Champagne sailing for the first Frostbite of the year

Tuesday, January 15, 2013

It was a chilly day out on board the Hyde-powered Winston in the RSYC Frostbite Series…

What a day for the first sail of the year! It was definitely champagne sailing, with sunshine and a perfect 8-12 knots for the first of the RSYC Frostbite series.

Members of the Hyde Sails team were sailing on the First 40 ‘Winston’ in IRC class 1 Paul Austin explains: “After a very shaky 30 minutes of practice we managed to pull the scratch crew together to get two second place results in near perfect sailing conditions when it mattered.”

It wasn’t just a fun day out: “We used this opportunity to try out the boat’s new Hyde Membrane (HMS) Code 2 Jib for the first time this year, and with the results we saw on its first outing we are very pleased.” Paul added: “It was also good to also see many other boats on the water sailing with Hyde Sails in this series.”
