First of all, we would like to thank the Philippine Home Boatbuilders Yacht Club (PHBYC) led by Mr. Roy Espiritu for organizing this event alongside Hyde Sails and all other sponsors. This year’s event was held at the beach of Megaworld’s The Mactan Newtown in Cebu on April 29-May 1,2016.
This is the 2nd year that Hyde Sails Cebu Inc. (HSCI) has participated in this fantastic annual event. This year, we were lucky enough to be able to build two Oz Goose boats under the supervision of Michael Storer, the boat’s designer.
Five of the participants from last year’s event are back this year to help instruct this year’s new boat builders. The instructors were Daylyne Noynay, Lucila Loquinario, Marlon Amistad, Elmer Verdida & Elorde Tampus.
For as little as the cost of the smart phone (said by the organizer), you and your family could be enjoying and creating memories at some of Cebu’s famous beaches.
From the very first day of the boatbuilding event, the effort and enthusiasm was of an extremely high standard.
The reason for the boatbuilding project has been to entice Filipinos and our international visitors to enjoy the luxuries of sailing and to prove that this historical pastime can be extremely inexpensive to venture into.
The 2016 Family boatbuilding Labor day weekend event was enjoyed by all and taught everybody involved, all aspects of boatbuilding, sailing and water safety.
Once again, we would like to thank all those involved in making this event an overall success.
