The team at Hyde Sails are always looking for new ideas, innovations and to work together to develop special products. Whilst the main focus is usually how to get that extra knot of speed from your sail, this new idea was quite different. Wanting to move away from the standard PVC material marquees that looked dated, a spark of imagination was ignited, that we could make our own marquee from sail cloth. It was quite the gamble as the go ahead came through weeks before the start of the show.
From concept to delivery took just two weeks and involved teamwork, guidance and lots of pictures to help the team on the loft floor bring this idea to life. The marquee is constructed from a mix of Woven polyester, PXB laminate, X-Ply monofilm window material and spinnaker nylon. Throughout the marquee you can see examples of radial, cross cut and vertical cut construction, look closer and you will see the trademark quality stitching and care that a Hyde Sail is renowned for.
Thinking about buying a new sail and not too sure which construction type you would like? Come to the Hyde Sails stand in Mayflower Park E018 and simply point out the wall that reflects how you want your sail to look. The team will guide you through the process and advise you about our exclusive boat show offers. We look forward to welcoming you!
