Success at VOLVO Dun Laoghaire Regatta

Hyde Sails  would like to congratulate our customers on their success at the VOLVO Dun Laoghaire Regatta.


The biannual event was held from the 11th to the 14th of July with a huge fleet of 393 boats with 120 visiting from afar. Boats powered by Hyde Sails emerged at the front of many fleets, the greatest results came within some of the most hotly contested One-Design & IRC fleets the Squibs,  J24's and IRC 3.

Derek Jago & John O'Rahilly with a a new Suit of Hyde Sails on the squib with 3 race wins won the regatta by 2 points in a very strong fleet of 17 boats.

Nine J24's were racing in their class eastern championship combined with IRC3. The Hyde Powered youth team from Howth Yacht Club took the honors with four wins from six to also take an impressive 2nd overall on IRC. Flor O'Driscall also powered into an impressive 2nd overall in the J24 Class

There were also great results posted in the Fireball class by Hyde powered boats, with Conor and James Clancy flying a Hyde Spinnaker into four wins unfortunatly missing out on 1st overall by 2 points to Bryan Byrne & Stephen Campoin also with four race wins to their name the other two bullets going to Frank Miller & Grattan Donnelly and Gavin Doyle & Dave Sweeney
