The Italian arm of Hyde Sails has been building up the brand’s presence in the Optimist class. Young Andreas Totis, powered by Hyde Sails, had a fantastic result in his first worlds and great results all year.
There were a host of great results over the year in the J/80 class, with Hyde’s sails fighting it out at the top of the highly competitive class.
Yet again the boats finish this epic race with all the sails still in good shape, and provide a great spectacle as they sail up the Solent sporting Union Jack spinnakers built by the skilled team in Hyde sail loft.
It was another fabulous year for distribution growth... we
welcomed 11 new distributors across the world. Hyde is
now represented in 21 countries, covering Europe, the
USA, Canada, the Middle East, Australia and New Zealand.
Hyde also held its first distributor conference, held in the UK and attended by distributors from across the globe. Read about it here.
Dusseldorf and Southampton were just two of the Boat Shows Hyde attended for the first time in 2012, both were a great success and Hyde will be back at both events in 2013 with an even bigger stand.
To cater for the growing network across the world, two ‘hub’ offices were opened in the UK, one in Hamble and one in Ipswich on the East Coast. Read more about our South Coast and East Coast UK office hubs here.
There was great success for the brand at Aberdeen Asset Management Cowes Week with a stunning six class wins! Read the full story here.
The year concluded with the arrival of the first of the new Clipper yachts. The Hyde Sails team has been working hard developing the sails for the new 70ft boats, which will feature in the 2013-14 Clipper Round the World Yacht Race. The team will be sailing the boat early in 2013. Altogether it was an amazing year, and 2013 looks like it could be even better, with new developments in a wide range of classes and continued growth as the Hyde team continues to focus on delivering the best sails and service to keep you at the front of the pack.
