Hyde Sails has announced the appointment of a new agent, Steve Douthwaite Sails based on the River Tyne. Steve started his loft in Gateshead in 2006, moving to larger premises at North Shields on the banks of the River Tyne in February 2010. The Hyde-powered 40.7 finishes first in class and third overall in the RORC Morgan Cup Peter Robson's Beneteau First 40.7, 'Playing Around Logic', sporting a full suit of Hyde sails, took the Queensborough Cup for best yacht in IRC One at the recent RORC Morgan Cup event. Hyde tops podium after day one of Squib nationals

Two races were sailed on the first day of the 2010 Squib Nationals in Dublin. Nigel Grogan and Dan Cripps took the first race, sailing Squib 105 complete with their new set of 2010 Hyde Sails. They went on to extend their overall lead in the 68-boat fleet to 12 points after two races, despite a very unpredictable day's racing full of big gusts and shifts. 'Neilson Redeye' wins at Brighton Marina Regatta

Over the weekend of May 7-9 Brighton Marina Yacht Club hosted its popular club regatta. With visiting yachts from Eastbourne and Sussex (Shoreham) Yacht Clubs, the fleet was split four ways. IRC1 and 2 (starting together) for the dedicated racers, a Portsmouth yardstick (PY) fleet for the cruiser racers and a dedicated fleet for the Cork 1720s.

The format was for the first race on the Friday evening followed by five races over the weekend with five races to count. With simple windward/leeward and triangle courses. The weather had still not settled into 'summer mode' and this spring regatta had a wintery feel about it with cold northerlies blowing through the weekend making for gusty offshore winds but flat seas...Read On
